Family Trip: St. George

We decided to go on our first big family trip to St. George. We went during the fall break so we didn't miss anything. We went to the Tuachan Theatre and saw Les Miserables (Eden slept right through it, she was perfect!). We then visited a few sites in St. George, here are a few:

The St. George Temple...

The St. George Tabernacle (Eden slept right through that too)...

But the best part of the entire trip, we will all agree, was the opportunity to relax...
and Eden did that the best!

We're Walkin'

The day before Eden turned 9 months old she began taking her first steps here and there. We were excited so for her 9 month birthday we bought her a baby walker, She thinks it's so much fun, if she could only learn how to turn it on her own, then it would be even better! We realize that Eden is now 10 months old, so this picture and video are old, but they were just so cute we couldn't help but show everyone. She is a bit more stable with the walker, but she still hasn't been brave enough to just get up and walk on her own. But we know when she does, all of our lives will change!

Bath Time!

Eden has a few keys to your happiness in life, these are things that she learned in the bath tub:
Things I've learned from taking my own baths:

1. Don't just nibble on life, take a BIG bite and enjoy life to its fullest.

2. When people put a camera in your face, give them your best look.

3. Pray that mom and dad put enough bubbles in your bathtub when your little so that when they show them off before your first date you're not too embarrassed!

WE LOVE YOU EDEN!!!

FHE with the Smiths

We are trying to develop a good habit of Family Home Evenings. We each (Aaron and Karla) switch off taking turns teaching a lesson and planning a simple family activity. Now that Eden is more active, our activities have become more fun, for example:
We tried finger painting with pudding, and we all had a good time, even with the clean-up after.
We'll definitely have to do this one again!

I like chocolate!!

The other day we made some beautiful chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, she kept eying them so we decided to give her a taste, and boy was she happy about that!

We may never go back to green vegetables again!

Our little tiger

Eden has begun to crawl, but when she first started to move she would make growling sounds, like a tiger. Eden has since become "our little tiger" and we soon won't be able to keep up with her!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!!

Did you know that Orem city has their very own baseball team? Well we discovered this a few weeks ago and went to a few games, this was a GREAT family outing!!

Even though she didn't really understand the game, Eden came in good spirits.

Daddy and Eden having fun at the game...

Mommy and Eden at the game.
Take me out the the ball game again!!

Duck Pond Carnival

This summer we went to Orem's Summerfest Celebration. We participated in several ways, one was the duck pond at the carnival. Eden has a duck that she plays with in the bathtub, so we thought this might be fun for her. The only problem was, there were more than just ONE duck to choose from!

Greetings from the Smith family

We have now been married for two years now and have our cute little Eden Rose who turned six months old in June. We (Aaron and Karla) both finished our bachelor degrees in December 2007 and then a week later Eden was born. Karla graduated from BYU-Idaho in Organizational Communications and Aaron graduated from UVSC in Secondary Education. Karla now stays at home with Eden and loves every minute of being mom. Aaron will start his first contract job in August 2008 at Canyon View Middle School located in north Orem. He will be teaching Math (pre-algebra and algebra 1). We currently live in Orem (we've been here for the past two years and love it) and will stay here until our little family outgrows our home. Aaron recently attended a LDS songwriting course in Salt Lake taught by Jenny Phillips and is currently working on putting a few songs together. His goal is to put together a CD of 5 - 10 songs by the end of the year.

Family Pictures 2008

We love our little girl, she is full of smiles, giggles and cheeks!
But we just can't decide:
Does she look more like her daddy?
Or does she look like her mommy?
Whatever the case is, we know we love her very much!!
